Internet is a big thing in all the major towns in Western Kenya. Internet cafes are everywhere and can be quite cheap, up to just a few Ksh per minute. Connection speeds vary between reasonable and slow, but are almost always enough to use a web-based email system like Gmail, Yahoo and Hotmail.
