Bird-watching

Western Kenya is paradise for birds and thus for bird-watchers. Known top places are Kakamega Forest and the swampy area's on Lake Victoria near Kisumu (including the Kisumu Bird Sanctuary near Ahero), but all of the area is rich in bird species. On Lake Victoria a boat-ride is guaranteed to discover many water birds, in the forest you'll be hiking with very knowledgeable guides.
