Kisumu and West Kenya
Stories
In Western and many other part of Kenya and even Africa, verbal transmission was the way to pass on accounts of events (real or imagined) to the next generation. Thus they form part of the tribal history and get re-told ever so often. This page will have a number of those stories to give you as visitor to Western Kenya a feel of the rich cultural background of the peoples who live here.
Because of the way the stories were passed on there is no 'official' version of a story. What we publish here is just one version, and often many others are being told, all slightly, or not-so-slightly, different!
