The people are the area. The area is formed by the people. This goes strongly for Western Kenya, partly because of the high population density (one of the highest in Sub-Saharan Africa) and partly because of the cultural ties people have with their land.
In Western Kenya the diversity is enourmous. The difference between the originally nomadic cattle-rearing Pokots in the North and the sedentary Luo in the South can only be appreciated by going there and experiencing it. What all have in common is their African hospitality. As long as you respect the local culture you'll find you are very welcome!
