Thimlich Ohinga is a stone enclosure, dating from the 15th Century and build by the inhabitants of the area at that time. Those people have vanished, but their building works remain. What you'll see is intriguing. This is the greatest stone enclosure in all of East Africa. The site has thick bush among which the stone enclosures appear.
The compound was about 150m in diameter with five smaller enclosures inside, which are the sites of former dwellings. The walls are up to 4 meters high.
The site is protected as National Momument.
