The Weeping Man
The Weeping man is a special rock formation a few kilometers South of Kakamega town.
What is there to see?
The rock formation itself is a sight in itself, but at the foot various cultural places can be visited. It is a meeting place for the tribal Elders and is used for cleansing ceremonies. Thus, the rock formation plays a special role in the Luhya culture that can best be appreciated if explained by one of the locals who live around. They will ask a small fee and show you around.

Kakamega is nearest and has several places where you can spend the night. Alternatively, Kisumu is about an hour's drive from here.

How do we get there?
The Weeping Man is a few kilometers South of Kakamega on the East side of the Kisumu road. It can easily be reached by taxi or matatu from Kakamega town. From Kisumu it is a drive of about 1 hour, which can also be done by taxi or matatu. Buses also pass here and will let you out.
